Roofing & Exterior Work in St. Paul
St. Paul is where the oldest housing in the metro lives. Summit Avenue has one of the longest stretches of surviving Victorian mansions in the country, and the neighborhoods off Grand, through Highland Park, Mac-Groveland, and the West Seventh corridor are full of Queen Annes, foursquares, bungalows, and brick two-stories from the 1880s through the 1930s. Exterior work here isn't done the same way it's done in a 1990s subdivision.
We match period details. Cedar shingle matches, slate-look synthetic on steep Victorian roofs, copper gutters and flashings, tuckpointing-aware flashing at brick chimneys. On the Payne-Phalen and North End housing that's a little newer — 1910s through 1940s — we do a lot of architectural asphalt tear-offs, siding swaps, and window replacements on fully original homes.
Every St. Paul project starts with a real inspection, because what's under the roof is almost never what you'd expect from the street. The neighborhood history writes the scope as much as anything.
